Current case

Customer issue

Hi Omron Team. 2 questions here please. 1st question on image attached. This program was made by someone, and they accidentally chose the wrong Component number Library. They chose the OMRON TEST database so there is nothing on here no components were registered when 90% of them are repeat component on our main company component number library. Is there any way to fix this situation and change the component number library without having to delete the program? Any way to change the database. The problem is...we don't have bare PCBs anymore they are all built. We only have the assembled PCB. 2nd Question. Is there anyway I can USE this Bare PCB image that is now attached to this "Bad" Program. We want to use our main correct Component Database not "omron test" We have had a similar situation like this before so I am wondering if there is anyway to take a Bare PCB and/or inspection image out of one program and inset it into another program. Thank you [email]

Hello Rob, I believe just doing your second request, will solve your problems. Here is a video to transfer program to a new library. I made it this morning to show you how it's done. Please review transfer_program_to_new_library.mp4 - Note, when it comes to clicking on the "Open folder" icon, make sure you're holding CTRL+SHIFT, then clicking on the "folder icon". That's why I bring up the on screen keyboard, to show that. Please review copy_base_library_to_new_library.mp4 video I created awhile back. This was for copying a library to a new library. In your case you COULD export the OMRON TEST library, and import that into your main library. You just have to be careful NOT to overwrite your main library, and only import "new" part numbers. Once you're in that menu, it should be obvious. Let us know if this helps? Thanks !

OK thanks Jeremiah. Your Video helps a lot too those are a good resource. So can I use this same method to just extract a Bare PCB image out of one program and insert it into another? Ignoring the component number library part now. If I just want to remake the program Choosing the correct library to begin with. Then assuming no Bare PCBs still exist. I can take the Bare PCB image out of the program…by using your method you sent me. Just copy the program over containing the bare PCB image, so it will have that Bare PCB image I want. And then rename to the correct program name, after calling the “bad” program “old” then I can delete it. Would this also be an option. When I do the Save in the top right corner and save that Bare PCB image. Can I just Create a new program with the correct Component library. Then is it possible to just import that Bare PCB image I saved to the desktop?

No problem and Thank you Jeremiah. Yup I just ensure my other AOI engineer we can’t mess up the start when we take the bare image and choose database. Because some of our customers we get EXACT PCBs and if we run into an issue later with AOI we don’t have another bare Image to use to make a new fresh program.
