Hello Syed, I am remoted in, and the RVS-X PC cannot ping any of the other PCs. This is likely a physical issue with the Ethernet connection. Since I am only connected to RVS-X, I cannot tell if the machine is able to ping the server or CTS-X, or if CTS-X can ping the server. If all of them cannot ping, I would guess that the issue is central to whatever method is being used to connect all of them. Are your PCs connected together with a single Ethernet switch? Or do they all connect to the Astronautics network before reaching each other? I would recommend getting your IT involved to help investigate the issue. Regards,

Hello Syed, After remoting in to the RVS-X PC, we have confirmed that the machine and RVS-X are operating normally. The CTS-X PC has a communication issue that is not resolved yet, but your IT is looking into it. The server has had a HDD failure on drive #5. The drive still shows a yellow light when powered on. The current recommendation is to determine the exact model of HDD in your server, order a replacement locally, and then replace the drive and repopulate the RAID array. This should not lead to any data loss if done correctly. I will look into Omron availability to support the replacement, while Astronautics will work on sourcing the HDD. Regards,
C

Hello Syed, The model needed is 7XB7A00042. Here are some places I found online, but you can certainly use any other vendor. https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/servers-storage-options/storage-servers/hdd/7xb7a00027?orgRef=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.google.com%252F&cid=us:sem%7Cse%7Cgoogle%7Cnonbrand_dsa_catchall%7Cnonbrand_dsa_catchall%7C%7C%7C12992692526%7C124891993914%7Cdsa-1303230222144%7Csearch%7C&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=[phone]&gbraid=0AAAAADnnO-UClzdR6jgdtKZshPMPC-E5U&gclid=CjwKCAiAv5bMBhAIEiwAqP9GuJF_JQ1Qxg8TPsEVU_uPE-5t6tDezofD__YirfhdZ5dDx5v9yqsNNRoCeUgQAvD_BwE https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-3-5-Internal-Hard-Drive/dp/B074W5BSBX Regards,

Hi Brian, Good evening! Thanks for providing links to order replacement HDD. But both of these places and others I searched have some lead time associated and we can not afford to have production down for that long. I am going to place PO for Amazon but till we get HDD we need Omron’s help to temporary running X-Ray machine. I am not sure you have any old on to borrow or any loaner server, I am willing to drive down IL to pick up if that is the option. Your help will be appreciated. Have a nice weekend! Hello Syed, I found some alternative drives that have a much quicker delivery date, possibly tomorrow. It is a SAS drive a little bigger than the original, but will work. I would suggest using this one, until the proper drive comes in.

Good morning everyone, We do not want a temporary solution, unless that is literally the only way to get us back up and running. We would like to avoid needing two visits, which is double the cost. Thank you! Kind regards, Jerry Richards

Hello Syed and Jerry, Right now, we are limited by the lead time of the HDD part. Since it is possible to purchase locally, I know it should be quick. But I understand the delivery times you are finding online still take 1-2 weeks. For now, the best solution is to keep checking for a faster part delivery. Has anyone from Astronautics already ordered the drive? Regards,
C

Hi Brian, Yes purchasing placed the PO with Amazon and it is coming from 3rd party. Expected date is 12th but can’t say for sure because of 3rd party and they have only 1 in stock. (See below confirmation) Any other option? Just throwing crazy idea like change all 8 drives to latest and stock item? It will save us in future as well. Can server run with less than 8 drives since we backed up data daily so don’t need 16TB storage? Thanks, Syed Raza [email]

Hello Syed, I checked more myself, and Amazon is about as fast of a delivery as I could find for your zip code (ours wouldn't likely be different). Replacing all 8 drives would not be a good idea because each drive replacement requires an X hour period of array rebuilding from the 7 OK drives to the 1 new drive. It would take a very long time. What I would recommend instead is to buy a few more HDDs and just keep them on hand and marked for the Omron server. To be conservative, let's plan for on-site service between Thursday and Friday. I don't actually plan to have someone on-site for two days, but I can at least block off the calendar and establish the exact timing once we have visibility on the HDD delivery. Regards,
C
