Customer issue
So we’ve recently been starting to hear some movement noise coming from the inside of the SPI. Right now we are running a job that inspects on the y axis and then moves over on the x and then inspects on the y again. And the noise seems to be coming from the x axis. Michael had said that he has also seen some oil accumulating around the x axis. Wondering if maybe a bearing failure, which seems kind of odd with it being so new. But anyway, hopefully you can help get this figured out. Thanks. [signatureImage]

Hello Jeremy, Please go to the Manual Operation tab and select Adjust XY Table. This will allow you to move the X and Y axes by clicking anywhere within the blue area. I suggest jogging the stage along both the X-axis and Y-axis independently to determine which axis is experiencing the issue. There is a possibility that a pulley or ball screw may be worn or failing. If you choose to bypass the door interlock key to monitor the stage movement, please exercise extreme caution and follow all applicable safety procedures while observing the machine in motion.
So I went to the table adjustment like you had said, and it’s definitely the x axis . Not sure what direction you want to go from there . [signatureImage] ________________________________

Hello Jeremy, I would start by wiping off the old grease and applying new grease. Please check the X-axis lead screw for any binding by manually moving it from the pulley. If there is no binding in the lead screw, I would recommend replacing the pulley. If that does not resolve the issue, the machine may require a new ball screw. Please send the machine serial number (ML-xxxxx), and we can check the availability of the pulley and ball screw.

The serial # is ML-67871 I’ll have to check the inside of the machine when we get a little down time [signatureImage] ________________________________

Kevin San, GHSP VP5200 serial number 67871 making some noise on the X-axis. I advised customer to check the ball screw for any binding. Would you please advise how to troubleshoot this problem? I would probably change the pully before changing attempting to change the ball screw. Please let us know. Please take a look at ticket 1837953 raised by Jeremy Washkowiak [email]

Thank you for your email. Upon investigating this serial number, the model is VP9000L. Is this serial number correct? If not, please provide the correct serial number (ML number). Regarding the noise from the X-axis, please apply a thin layer of grease to the linear slide section of the X-axis and check if the noise improves. If it does not improve, please send me a video showing the circumstances under which the noise occurs, so I can determine what kind of noise is being produced. Hello Jeremy, Could you please send a photo of the nameplate when you have a chance? Also, if greasing did not resolve the noise, please record a short video of the machine while the noise is occurring and send it to us. This will help our factory team better understand the issue and determine the root cause. Thank you for your assistance. We appreciate your help.

I did clean off and apply fresh grease to the x axis screw. And it seemed to make it quieter but has not gone away. I’ve attached a picture of the nameplate thanks [signatureImage] ________________________________

Hello Jeremy, Would it be possible for you to send us a video of the issue? I would also ask you to check whether the coupler between the servo motor and the ball screw is properly tightened. Please inspect the coupler carefully and confirm that there are no visible cracks or other signs of damage. Thank you, Francisco Villalpando Engineering Supervisor Direct: +[phone] [email] (Non-ITAR)
