Good morning, I had a question regarding the inspection slice being set on the "Position Range". The PCB Thickness is 1mm and the reconstruction range is as follows: Above PCB - 0.750 Below PCB - 0.350 A program was created, the Inspection Slice Offset, and Adjustment Slice Offset did not need to be changed for this individual part. We were able to see all solder, the voids, and the joint at the "0 Micron" level. Please see the image below for the GOOD programmed part: [email] However, after running a few more assemblies, the same part has changed where it is extracting. The part is static and is not changing heights. For some reason, the extraction of the solder is "720 Micron" at a "0" Inspection & Adjustment slice offset. Nothing was changed, just the extraction of the solder. Please see the below image for the BAD part: [email] This is causing a lot of false calls and escapes due to the noise being seen as solder. Is there something that needs to be tuned within the program or is this something that cannot be fixed? Once we tune the program to the "BAD" part, it will ruin the parts that "GOOD". Hello Tristan, I think the primary issue is that the position range window is not large enough in the x/y for normal part movement. If you make the position range window large (bigger than the pad on all side), then it then allows the X/Y adjust functionality inside to position range to track the component correctly (if binarizaiton setting are setup), then in turn the software can more acurately determine the proper Z extraction slice.

Good morning, In my experience when I open the reconstruction range, the extraction tends to be a bit more inaccurate and seems to be a lot harder to keep consistent. Would I increase both lower PCB and Upper PCB or just one of them? Hello Tristan, If the X/Y area can’t track location, it then likely can’t perform z-extract. If that happens none of land window values solder area, solder shape or wetability tests will not be valid. I can remote in tomorrow to assist if desired.

We are currently off this Friday. Monday would work better for everyone; however, I can come in on that Friday if Monday does not align with your schedule. Hello Tristan, There is a chance of an opening for me this Thursday, barring any unseen customer emergency with current customer. What about 3pm this Thursday. Should take maybe an hour, possibly less.
