Hi Adam, Here is a summary of the current situation: * All hard drives on the VDB server were replaced, and the system was restored from a previous full backup. * At this point, Oracle is not able to start due to a mismatch between the control file and the data files. * We have spent significant time attempting recovery, but have not been able to successfully restore the Oracle database. At this stage, we see two possible options: Option 1 – Engage Japan team for recovery * We can involve our Japan team to further analyze and attempt recovery of the database. * This will require providing TeamViewer access so they can assess the system directly. Option 2 – Reinstall Oracle * Reinstalling Oracle will resolve the issue, but historical production data (including image history) will be lost. * Programs and libraries will remain intact. * This process will take approximately 3–4 hours and can be performed remotely, including reconfiguration and system verification. Please let us know how you would like to proceed. @Eric McElmurry / OEI , Please let Adam know if there would be any charges for this future are previous service. You mentioned that the programs would not be touched and historical failure data would be lost from the images, but would there be anything else? That is probably better than the file mismatch we had yesterday. We changed the status yesterday to Mount and it may have remembered that last status. If it is taking only 37 seconds to move the file the I can try to help. I would make sure that Omron applications are not running and bogging down the memory. The collection application was consuming lots of resources yesterday. Please let me know if the team viewer is open and I can help. I have a meeting at 10:00 and schedule is open before 10:00. I took the control file from the prismDB area and copied it to the flash recovery area, overwriting the control file that was there. I still couldn’t open the database so I ran the recovery process again but was met with the same ‘file is more recent than control file’ error. After doing some research last night, there is an rman module that may work better than the sqlplus module. The files pulled from the image I have in a temp area on the server so in the event we hit a roadblock, its a quick 20 second copy overwrite to start over. However, I can reach out to our team in Japan, and they can coordinate with the software developers to review this issue. I will need to collect the Oracle logs as well as the VDB logs to proceed so that we can share them for further analysis. In the meantime, did you notice any improvement on the AOI side after replacing the files? If the files were not mismatched, we should not need to make additional changes on the Oracle side. Please let me know what you observed, and we can determine the next steps from there. You mentioned that the Omron Oracle team isn’t online until the evening? I would restart the server and check if HTTP error goes away. Please let me know what you find out. I am working on getting those copies to a thumb drive. Just so I am clear, I am stopping all the Oracle services on the Prism server, dropping the files from the thumb drive into that prismdb folder location, overwriting what is there and then once everything is copied over, starting up all the Oracle services?
