Customer issue
Hello Omron Support Team, I am writing from Nidec Mobility America for assistance with our AOI systems (VT-S730 version 3.03.00E and VT-S500 version 3.04.00A). We are looking to improve our automated reporting and have two questions: *1. Customizing Defect/Scrap Classifications *Currently, when an operator marks a board as "scrap", the specific failure root-cause (e.g., "skewed component") is overwritten in the database by a generic "no good" or "scrap pcba" designation. Is it possible to customize the system settings or drop-down menus to allow operators to log both the specific defect mode and the scrap decision simultaneously? [image: image.png] *2. API Access for Power BI Integration* We are building a Power BI dashboard to automate our reporting and display real-time AOI rejection data. Could you please provide the API documentation and any necessary credentials to access the AOI Inspection database? Thank you for your time and support. Let us know if you need any additional information from our end. -- *Best Regards,* *Sri Bayya * Customer Quality Group Manager *Nidec Mobility America Corporation* 3709 Ohio Avenue, St. Charles, IL 60174 ? +[phone] ✉️ [email] *

Hello Sri. When an operator reclassifies a defect, the original inspection result is not overwritten in the database. The database contains two separate fields: Inspection Result and Confirmation Result. The Inspection Result stores the original defect detected by the machine, while the Confirmation Result stores the defect classification selected by the operator. Therefore, the original defect, in this case, Skewed Component, remains available and can be retrieved using the API. The Omron API requires a valid license and a mutual NDA between Omron and Nidec. I was unable to find documentation confirming that Nidec has purchased the license or that an NDA is currently in place. I am including Eric, the current Account Manager for Illinois, and Tim, our Sales Manager, to help verify whether the required NDA and license already exist.
