Current case

Customer issue

Good morning Omron Team, I have two questions regarding issues that have come up with our AOI machine. 1. Inspecting capacitors with the same part number but different dimensions There has been a new capacitor added to one of our Approved Vendor Lists for 1210 capacitors which has slightly different dimensions than the 1210 capacitors the machine is taught to see. Due to the difference in height of the component, the fillet measurements are poor because it's expecting the component to be larger. We cannot just change the dimensions of the component to be smaller as both sizes of capacitors will be used interchangeably. I have tried adding the new sized component as a new mask model and inputting the average height of both components into the component and lead information settings, but that only makes everything read poorly. I am wondering if you have any suggestions on how to deal with inspecting components under the same part number but with slightly different dimensions? Maybe there is a setting where tolerances for component dimensions can be set? New (shorter) 1210 Capacitor [cid:f00ade01-02b1-41a1-82d3-96f21ee738e6] Original (taller) 1210 Capacitor [cid:56862fba-68ea-4ca8-84fd-8f61cd8a4a4a] 1. Missing Component False Calls When this program is run, a bunch of components (more than what is featured in this image) get called out for being missing. These components have no 3D data, but there are components there and being extracted in 2D. I have tried troubleshooting this as well but am not quite sure what would cause the machine to not be able to register that there is a component there. Do you have any suggestions on how to go about fixing this? Hello Olivia, For the 1210 cap issue. The only suggestion I have is to simply create a new part number for that part. Adding _121004 (for the shorter one), and _121010 (for the larger one). Unfortunately, you'll have to update this when one or the other vendor runs. For the issue with the resistors not having 3D data. Is it always the same location(s)? If you take an adjustment image, does it have 3D data then? Let us know?
