Current case

Customer issue

Quick question about land extraction. Omron VTS1040 is extracting the lands on production boards in the wrong spots. These are all pre-reflow inspections Ive only ever used global fids When capturing Bare and Inspection PCB they are aligned to the same rail inside the machine. Position correction finds them correctly on the Inspection PCB the remainder of the run it is not finding the lands where they should be I am seeing a lot of false calls for end overlap In the images above you can see the lands being extracted correctly on the inspection PCB and the lands missing the mark in the very next board. This is an issue I've been having on multiple boards, from multiple manufacturers so I don't think it's a board variation problem. Any ideas on how I can resolve this?

Hello Quality, Are you setting the position correction colors on a bare board? The bare board should only be used during component registration to extract the pads. Below are some common causes of incorrect pad extraction: Fiducial Colors Please ensure there is no noise within the assigned fiducial colors. Position Correction Colors Please use a populated board and assign only the solder pad colors (typically blue and green) for position correction. Physical Component Alignment Please verify that each component is properly aligned during the inspection registration process. Rail Width Please ensure the rail is not loose. A loose rail may cause the board to stop at an angle, preventing the fiducials from accurately correcting the position of all components. If you need assistance, we can schedule a TeamViewer session to review the setup together.

Great! Rail width and fids are all good, I will try the other suggestions and follow up with results. Thank you
